Astrophobia- Fear of stars or celestial space.
Graded exposure Exposure to the feared stimulus which gradually increases in intensity over the period of treatment.
Massed exposure A treatment programme that involves exposure to the feared stimulus on a daily basis.
Spaced exposure A treatment programme that involves exposure to the feared stimulus on a weekly basis for a fairly prolonged period. Therapist-directed exposure which may include all of the above.
Self-directed exposure A treatment programme (that may have been initially suggested by a therapist) which the patient undertakes himself.
