It is necessary for the patient to fully trust the therapist, to have complete confidence in the process and to co-operate fully and the technique may not be suitable for everyone.
Massage for Heliophobia
As long ago as 3000 BC, massage was used as a therapy in the Far East, making it one of the oldest-known treatments used by mankind. In the year 5 BC in ancient Greece, the physician Hippocrates recommended that in order to maintain good health, a massage using oils should be administered daily after a perfumed bath. Hence the relaxation and healing powers of massage have been recognised for at least 5,000 years.
